Day 15
[ Edit ]
Well, here it is. Halfway through the month. Have I actually finished anything? No.
One thing I will say for this project: I’m beginning to appreciate the plight many songwriters find themselves in, having songs but not having capable people at their beck and call to play them. If I were any good with a keyboard, this might be less of an issue. If I decide I want to do this regularly, I’ll have to take some piano lessons.
I also have decided, obviously, not to post all the time about this project. Originally I figured I’d write something at least every couple of days, but the going has been slow and boring enough that I want to spare my dear (and few) readers the agony. With any luck, I’ll have a few tracks to show for it in two weeks.
Tonight I went back to working on something purely MIDI, a kind of relaxed electronic thing. So far I think it might survive. I still have to make a song out of it, but I’ve built up enough pieces that I think I can probably stretch it out into a short song.
The tally so far:
- Drum madness track: some recording finished (2 or 3 minutes worth)
- Electronic/MIDI thingy: about 32 bars sequenced
- Voice and guitar thingy: lyrics written
- Cover: the one I’ll probably do is chosen, and I’ve recorded it a couple times, but neither is a keeper.
- Wild card… still not sure
