Tapping Tempo  [ Edit ] 

Logic Audio doesn’t support Tap Tempo. This means you can’t tap quarter notes on your keyboard or whatever, and have Logic interpolate the tempo for you. More expensive versions of Logic can do this, and I know Ableton Live also can.

If you use Mac OS X, though, you need not despair. Simply download The Tapper, a tiny free application that does it splendidly.

AudioTools Pro, which I have not tried, is a cross-platform shareware ($15) that includes Tap Tempo, and lots of other potentially useful functions. It’s another option.
