The Puppet Masters
*** By Robert Heinlein. This is another pick by Will the bookstore dude. Okay, last time I said Heinlein's cool because he explores sociopolitical themes relevant today, but in the future. This book doesn't do that, but Heinlein's still cool, and this book is still a really fun — if not so thought-provoking — read. I rate it the same as Starship Troopers because of the high entertainment value. Pure action: What if Earth were suddenly under hostile takeover, but everything seemed to go on as normal... because the aliens are parasites who control the minds and actions of their human hosts??? Wackiness, squishy slugs, scabies, and some romance ensues. P.S. If anyone has a hankering to read/own either The Puppet Masters or Starship Troopers, I will mail it/them to you!Posted by Lisa on February 6, 2002 12:19 PM
