What's this? I have a blog? NO! Well, perhaps I should update.
Tomorrow morning, early, I'll be joining up with three others, my team, for the first adventure race in which I've ever participated. There will be many other teams involved, of course, including groups from Saipan and Japan. It should be exciting, exhausting, hot, and at times painful: a good time by any measure. We begin at 4am and the deadline to finish the race is 24 hours from commencement. The race will involve running, mountain biking, fin assisted swimming, coasteering, and kayaking. My teammates are the burly Mr. Brent Vickers, the lean Mrs. Sarah Morrison, and the brawny Mr. Phil Law. The latter two are acquaintances of Brent, known to him through his rugby ventures.
Right now I'm just taking it easy and making sure to drink lots of water. I'll be going to bed around 7 or 8pm, which is likely the earliest I've gone to bed in a long time. Then it's up at 2:30am, gear up, and head to the start.
Once I've recovered, I plan to add some more to this site. There's a lot that has gone on in the past couple months, which is the reason for my complete lack of entries. I also have some photos to add, from things like my unexpected trip home in March, the X-Terra race in Saipan, and the rugby tournament back in...yikes, February. For now, if you want to learn a little about this race, there's a short synopsis of things at this site: www.guamextremeadventurerace.com
