Lisa’s home. Yay! For one day. Arg!My newest vice is technically not even a vice. EMusic is like Napster, only legal and with less Britney Spears. They have music from Prestige, Concord, and lots of other labels available, so to a jazz fan they are a great resource. For ten to fifteen dollars a month you can download til you barf. Some of the many artists I’m partaking of:
The labels and artists receive payment for every download, apparently. I still have to find out how this compares to a CD in terms of the cut the artists get, but as far as the consumer goes it’s great. I’m recommending this because I think they’re pretty good, not to make money. None of these links are hooked into the affiliates program, although they do offer one.Countdown to the Concord Jazz Festival: 2 days. I’m playing in a group that’s going to be opening for Chick Corea’s trio. All of us in the band met through the
Jazzschool, but we still don’t have a good name. Have any ideas?
