:: Go Sox ::

Lisa and I watched one baseball game on TV last season, the infamous Cubs-Marlins Game 6.

Tonight we watched another game, but we liked this one’s outcome much more. Go Red Sox! Even though I’m in Chicago, and my brother-in-law has made me a knowledgable Cubs fan, the Red Sox are the team I grew up watching, so it makes me happy to see them win. Especially being the first team in any sport other than hockey (and that’s only happened twice) to be down 3-0 in a seven game series, and come back to win it.

Houston has never made it past the first round of the playoffs before this year, so this is a (an?) historic season for them as well. It should be very exciting to watch.

Hey Joe. Remember, though, we want the St. Louis Cards to win the last game of their series tonight. It would be crushing to have the Astros' Roger Clemons take the Sox out of the World Series - after his thumb sucking his last two years as a Red Sox pitcher. Go Sox.

I guess I was too young to really be aware of that drama at the time. I just hope the Sox can keep this momentum and roll over whoever makes it to face them.

Ah, but divided loyalties between Cubs and Sox dictate rooting against the Cardinals. Besides, the Cards are more likely to beat the Sox than the Astros are, IMO; if the Sox play the Astros, they catch a break in that the Astros won't be able to start Clemens in game 1 (and potentially use him 3 times in a 7-game series).

Nice that Boston can finally say to New York--all your base are belong to us. NY is teh suck.
