:: Rain! ::

It’s raining in Oakland. It never rains here, especially during the summer. But it is. Woo hoo!

:: Memento! ::

For the first time in a long time, I feel like I spent my eight dollars well. Please do yourself the favor of seeing Memento as soon as possible. Here, I’ll even give you a link to local showtimes to help you find a theater playing it. This is easily the best movie I’ve seen this year, and certainly one of the most well-crafted movies anyone has done in the past several years. I promise you’ll b glad you’ll saw it.

:: Case Logic Good, and more ::

Well, once again Lisa’s off to camp. This will happen throughout the summer: here today, gone tomorrow. Sigh. The Girl Scouts are quite militaristic about when you’re supposed to camp leave. If you have a “day off”, you have 24 hours. Two days, 48. That means each day feels like half a day. Blah. At least the job is good so far, which hasn’t always been the case.Before I took her back to camp today, we walked around our neighborhood running errands. We saw the following words of wisdom spraypainted on the pavement in front of a church: “Nazis are pathetic”. Words to live by.In other news, I discovered that Case Logic, maker of the cd cases I use for my ever-growing collection, actually stands by their lifetime guarantee. One of my cases broke recently, the binder’s rings tearing through the cover, rendering it effectively useless. You just send the broken case to them by UPS or something (which you have to pay for, but they pay for the return shipping), and after a week or two you have a replacement. Goody goody.Corn on the cob for dinner tonight. Yum yum. I like Whole Foods, regardless of the reputation it has for being “expensive”. So are all the other grocery stores around here. Might as well get food that has no preservatives or pestacides or who-knows-what-else.

:: CMU ad ::

Holy smoke. My alma mater had an ad on TV. “It’s a fast-paced in-your-face montage of ‘hip and cool’ science images and stylized virtual reality basketball game footage.” I do think Carnegie Mellon is a great place, but this is still amusing, probably mostly because the actors aren’t even students. Top drama school in the country, and the actors aren’t even students. Heh heh heh.

:: Eating Crow ::

My word. Along with news of Bush being put on the defensive for his innane environmental policies during his trip to Europe (I think you know my feelings on that), I saw this article. Caw!

:: Seattle ::

This is what happens when I’m the only one home and I spend all day playing music. I go to bed at 3. Good for me.I wouldn’t stay up like this without doing some work and putting up some new photos, this time of Seattle.A new home page is needed. I’m going to start thinking about that a little bit. Maybe once I get a bunch of stuff done for work, I’ll address that. For now, bed.
