I feel extremely unhip finding out about this from the Sun-Times, but I don’t care, because The Midwest Teen Sex Show is a really good podcast. It’s part funny, part educational, with a lot of useful, sex-positive information embedded in really funny writing and acting. It’s targeted just slightly more at girls, but everything in it is good for everyone. I wish I had been able to check out something like this when I was a teen. I’ve watched half the episodes, and now I’m going to watch the rest.
You can start at the beginning, or just go to the site and watch any of them.
Nearly every year for the past eight years, we’ve gotten together somewhere with a bunch of our friends for New Years. These are mostly people we met in college, and whom we see rarely throughout the rest of the year. Despite the relative lack of contact, we still get together and essentially just live together for a week every year. It is always great, and this year was no exception. It was the first time we did it in California — so many of our tribe live there now, it’s surprising it didn’t happen sooner — after NH x 2, MI x 3 (4, maybe?), TX, and… other place(s). I continue to hope that we’ll keep this up despite all of life’s pressures. That doesn’t mean I expect everyone to make it every year, but as long as a bunch of people are willing and able to do it, it’s a beautiful thing.
It’s especially beautiful when you have amazing sunsets. Those sunsets, and many other fun photos, are in the gallery.
