:: How To Save Jobs In The Auto Industry ::

I really like this idea, or something like it, as a way to save people working in the auto industry.

:: President-Elect Obama ::

This is going to take a while to sink in, probably for just about everyone.

I was hoping the election would turn out this way, and it has! I’m really interested to see what Obama’s cabinet and other appointments are going to look like in the coming weeks, and what those choices will indicate about how his administration is going to start out.

McCain’s concession speech was classy and respectful, the kind of thing that I expected from him before recent months of the campaign. Obama’s speech was inspiring, as he has managed to be so often. If he can keep that up through the next four years, and back it up with good, solid oversight of the federal government, we could be in a very good position.

The wonderful feeling of this night will eventually wear off, and we’ll get back to facing the tremendous problems and challenges that are here. But I think we’ve chosen the right person that this time to lead us, and I hope that we can come together regardless of how we cast our votes.

I would also like to see California vote down Prop 8, but it’s going to be a while before those results are counted.

:: RIP Studs Terkel ::

He died earlier today at the age of 96. I saw him speak at an event I played at two or three years ago, and as they say, he had plenty of energy at his advanced age. As he said, curiosity definitely did not kill this cat.
