I watched some professional hockey this year for the first time in my life, including tonight. The Blackhawks won in overtime after playing some really good hockey, and some pretty terrible hockey. The ending was weird with the goal that fooled the goal horn (or whatever that was), but it worked out. Fun!
Carla Zilbersmith died on May 17, and will be missed. She was a pretty inspirational person that I knew first through my work on her website (not the blog that she maintained during her battle with ALS), and later through reading her blog. A lot of people talk about Carpe Diem and whatnot, but something about the way she wrote about it was more resonant for me, and I know there have been forks in the road that I’ve looked at, and she influenced my thinking about which way to go. Most of the time, I’m pretty sure I’m better off for it. I think.
Regardless, thanks for everything, Carla.
