This weekend has been nice. Lisa’s parents came out for a couple days, and we went to the Shedd Aquarium yesterday for the first time in a little while. Things are being shuffled around a lot there, and they have some new critters like the caiman lizard in this photo. We saved some money on admission using a museum pass from the public library. Chicago peeps, if you aren’t taking advantage of this program, you really should be. I know it’s called Great Kids, but it can be used by anyone. Be aware that the passes get you different kinds of admission at different museums — this took us by surprise yesterday. Know before you go.
I demonstrated the depth of my commitment to music (or possibly my lack of proper priorities) by leaving Lisa and the family at Margie’s, not having eaten any ice cream sundae goodness, to make my gig at the Charleston on time. Fortunately, the gig was fun, so I don’t have any major regrets. It’s always hard to leave Margie’s, though, there’s no denying it.
By the way, I have been wondering why there haven’t been any comments on this site in a while. If you’ve tried to comment and something hasn’t worked, let me know. I had some stuff installed here that might have made commenting too hard (or even impossible), but it’s gone now. If you just don’t have anything to say, that’s different.
That's one meeeeeeeeeeean lookin' gator you got there. He looks liable to pounce at any given moment. I'd say stick to some friendly tuataras or maybe an anole. These here caimans can latch right upon yer scrotum and deliver one helluva wallopin'! Oh, wait a sec. Lookin' at yer picture now, I see that ain't a caimen at all. That thars a CROC! Sweet Jesus, brethren, keep yer distance! Yer a damned fool fer gettin' so close to onna them! I seen these monstrosities nab a full grown wildebeest from the frothy Nile! YOU could be next. Be SAFE, fer criminitlies sake.
