Journal Entry

:: Time to hide from spoilers ::

Harry Potter madness is in full swing. I didn’t yield to temptation and buy the book tonight, but I did stop by a store to see what was happening. So here’s a tiny bit pop culture photojournalism.

People waiting across the street
There was a very long line of people across the street from the bookstore, but no line at the store. This was before 11 PM, and the book wasn’t on sale yet. I assume that people might have been at the movie theater watching the latest movie.

More people waiting outside
They were congregating and crossing over to the bookstore en masse. Or en several masses.

People playing Harry Potter bingo
There were people all over the store playing various games, including what appeared to be Harry Potter bingo.

People playing some sort of Harry Potter guess-the-wizard game
This large crowd were surrounding a couple of women decked out as witches, and a man as a wizard. Scarves, glow-in-the-dark round glasses, and lightning scars were everywhere.

No book for me tonight, we’ll probably be borrowing it from someone, but I did score one each of the cunning stickers the store was offering: Trust Snape and Snape Will Betray. I trust him, but maybe that’s Alan Rickman’s fault.

In any case, I will pretty much avoid reading anything on the internet until I’ve read this book so I won’t accidentally catch a spoiler. It’s going to be a rough week or so without you, internets.
